Young Adults
How to Succeed in Life – Pastor Buddy Cook
In the young adult class, we will be exploring the “Wisdom Literature” of the Bible. God has created the world with wisdom. If one observes the created world to understand what works and what doesn’t, and then follows that “advice,” success in life is assured.
“Lord, Change My Attitude” – Chad Huffman
In the sanctuary, we will be working through the James MacDonald video series “Lord, Change My Attitude.” Using examples from the Israelites’ journey out of Egypt, MacDonald shows show attitudes can affect whether someone stays in the “wilderness” or enjoys the blessings of the Promised Land. This study series explores how we can change our negative attitudes into those God honors.
“Uncle Tom’s Cabin” – Julie Huffman
In the adult classroom, we will be reading and dissecting Harriet Beecher Stowe’s “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” With the help of the Holy Spirit, we will explore how this novel, published in 1852, depicts the reality of slavery while demonstrating that Christian love can overcome something as destructive as enslavement of fellow human beings and how this message can still have significance in our lives today.
