Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Montrose First Church Of The Nazarene is our mission  to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Montrose First Church Of The Nazarene members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.

Ushers / Greeters

The usher / Greeter team at Montrose First Church Of The Nazarene fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Montrose First Church Of The Nazarene. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

We are always praying for people who are gifted or want to serve in this ministry at Montrose First Church Of The Nazarene. In every service refreshments are prepared, setup and “eaten.”

SAMS – Senior Adult Ministry

This is a fellowship of believers (50+ years) ministering in bible studies, monthly fellowship with food, fun and games.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a ministry in our congregation in which trained and supervised lay person, called “Stephen Ministers,” provide one-to-one Christian care to individuals facing life challenges or difficulties.

Mission Outreach

Montrose First Church of The Nazarene is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers.

Worship Ministry

Every day we praise and worship through His Word, in prayer and fellowship, in our occupation, and importantly, corporately at church.  How we present ourselves each day will prepare us in God-honoring praise and worship on Sunday and is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in administration, media presentation, our music, and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir.  These volunteers are an important part of the Worship ministry at Montrose First Church of The Nazarene, using their heart as a worshiper first, then talents and gifts to glorify God. Caravan is a scouting—or kids’ club—type of program for children in first through sixth grade. Classes typically meet once a week throughout the school year. Caravan uses an active, hands-on learning approach to help children grow physically, socially, mentally, and spiritually. Caravan focuses on teaching everyday skills with a distinctly Christian focus.
Children become members of one of the three major group based on their age- Searchers (first and second graders), Explorers (third and fourth graders), or Adventurers (fifth and sixth graders). Each group is under the direction of one or more adult guides. The awarding of badges is a fun but optional part of this program.
