Welcome to MNC First

Thank you for visiting our site!   It is our prayer that you might know that God loves you and wants to have an intimate relationship with you.

We believe that church is more than a building or the programs that are offered. It is a community of people living life in relationship with the living God.  God is at work among the people who call MNC First home and we invite you and your family to join us as together we walk out what it means to follow Jesus in Montrose Colorado.

Donations for Haiti

If you would like to give toward the hurricane relief & recovery in Haiti, you can give online by clicking here and following the steps, or you can designate checks or cash in the church offering by marking them “Haiti.” There are many Nazarenes that have been affected by the hurricane, and by giving through Compassionate Ministries, we know they will receive the help they so desperately need. Please pray about giving to help the Haitian community recover from this terrible tragedy.

    Be a Peter
    Series: (All)
Pastor Dan's audio cut out for an illustration of Peter's actions and at the end of his sermon, but what was recorded of his message is still worth sharing.  We apologize for the gaps. Hopefully, the notes below (and attached) will help you to fill in some pieces.

Matthew 14:23-36 Peter walks on water.

    - The storm doesn't affect Jesus, but He sees how it affects His disciples.
    -Peter challenged Jesus  ("impetuous Peter")
-The waves around Peter caused him to doubt and sink.
    -He called out "Lord"
-the return to the boat is not instantaneous without Jesus
-the storm didn't end until they were in the boat
    - Peter set the example for the church - Get out and DO
    - God did not call us to wait and watch
-Not doing something will haunt you more than making a mistake

    Be a Peter
    - act, don't flee
    -act, don't watch
    -act, don't wait

Better to make a mistake trying than doing nothing.

Grace covers our mistakes. He can't cover what we don't do.
