A Loving, Growing Family of God

Winter To Spring

As we move from the season of winter into spring, I am constantly amazed at how it all seems to happen at once. It was not that long ago that snow covered the ground, in fact that was yesterday! Then with a blink of the eye I am finding the trees clothed in new leaves, flowers beginning to spead out their petels, and birdsong filling the air. Spring has many beauties, but it does come with a few difficulties. The strong winds that can cover the ground with branches from the trees and rains that last for days. In the early days of spring it can be hard to remember that the season could not happen without the difficuties. Without the rains the snows would not sink into the ground to wake up the grass, the winds help to clean out dead wood so that the trees have more sap to give the new leaves. So much like the life that we live. In pain we look for signs of new life, but when the dead wood starts falling off and we start waking up to the fact that restoration and new life requires us to change we become afraid. We want to hold on to the way things have always been. Thankfully just as no one can stop the change of the seasons, we can not stop growing spiritually. Hold onto the promises in Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.

He has made everything beautiful in it's time.

Rejoice in the season and know that whatever season you are going through dark will be followed by light, winter will turn to spring, and pain will turn to joy.
